Tank stabilization and routine maintenance month. Baseline parameters established before BBA treatment campaign.

- Nitrates maintained: 15-20 ppm range throughout month
- Consistent weekly water changes: 75% display / 90% sump
- pH stable at 7.2-7.4
- Temperature: 76-78ยฐF
๐ง Water Changes & Maintenance
- Weekly 75% display / 90% sump water changes
- Regular glass cleaning and overflow maintenance
- Purigen regenerated mid-month
- Filter sponges rinsed in tank water
๐ฑ Plant Health
All plants showing healthy growth with no major issues. Some early signs of BBA beginning to appear on Anubias leaves and around filter intake, but still minimal. Stem plants growing actively with regular trimming required.
๐งต Algae Status
First signs of BBA appearing on:
- Anubias leaf edges (minor spots)
- Filter intake hardware
- Areas of highest flow
Decision made to begin targeted treatment in November rather than let it establish further.
๐ฝ๏ธ Feeding Routine
Standard feeding schedule maintained throughout October:
- Daily flake feedings for community fish
- Algae wafers 3x per week for bottom feeders
- Occasional frozen foods (brine shrimp, bloodworms)
Note: This schedule was later optimized in November to the current rotation.

All fish species showing:
- Active swimming and normal behavior
- Good coloration and appetite
- No signs of disease or stress
- Established territories and schooling patterns

- Tank running smoothly with established bio-filtration
- Cleanup crew (snails and shrimp) active and healthy
- Early BBA detection prompted plan for November treatment
- Flow patterns identified as potential BBA contributor
- System stable and ready for optimization
